My Simcha World
Jewish Community – a personal touch by Jewish wedding photographer Peter Lane
As a Jewish Simcha wedding photographer and a Bar Mitzvah Photographer, leading a team of Simcha photographers and videographers, August is our vacation month as the majority of our clientele is Jewish. So, what’s the link?
The Nine days of Av starting 1st of August are a religious observance in Judaism, being a part of The Three Weeks commemorating the history of temple destructions during Jewish history and not only. Basically a period of mourning, reducing the joy, introspection, repentance, and forging a closer relationship with God.
So, my personal view. Living in Orange County upstate New York and witnessing some super fanatic communities around me, I wasn’t impressed and I believe those communities who act as if God owns them, throw a bad image for the rest of the amazing Jewish community. Adding on this the thousands of fake and anti-Jewish books of conspiracy made me even more reserved.
I found out it’s so easy to hate and hatred makes people blind. Jews are the most hated people in the world and this is a big mistake as the mass of Earth population doesn’t take responsibility for their well being, happiness and consequences of being lazy and destructive. Jewish people are very focused and dedicated of what they do. They study more, work more and when they celebrate they do is as if there won’t be tomorrow – and my team of Simcha photographers and videographers are blessed to capture those moments of joy.
I personally consider myself and well accepted as a part of the London Jewish community. My personal Peter Lane style Judaism took me thru 9 years of Shabbat observation, kosher food diet, etc. practices beneficial for spirit and health.
If I have to link myself to e certain group of people – definitely the Jewish community.
